INDICATION

Aid for the prompt temporary relief of urgency, minor pain, burning and frequency of urination

DESCRIPTION

Each analgesic tablet contains – phenazopyridine hydrochloride 97.2 mg

DOSAGE

2 tablets after meals, 3 times a day, as needed (MAX: 12 tablets per course of treatment, should not exceed 2 days)

WARNINGS

¨         Produces a harmless reddish-orange discoloration of the urine

¨         May cause staining of clothing and fabric and soft contact lenses

¨         Do not take this product if there is problems with liver or kidney

¨         Do not take this product if there is an allergy to phenazopyridine

¨         Do not give to children <12 years old unless directed by a physician

NOTES

UTI Relief̉ should only be used for temporary pain relief.  It is not a cure.  If symptoms persist, please call your doctor.

LIMITATIONS OF PROCEDURE

False Negative caused by:

¨         Large quantities of ascorbic acid (vitamin C, antibiotics, fruit juices)

¨         When the urine has not remained in the bladder for 4-6 hours

¨         When urine contain microorganisms that cannot break down nitrates

¨         Vegetarian diets providing insufficient nitrates

False Positive caused by:

¨         Urine specimen appears red due to any cause

 NOTE:    The reagent area of the Test Pad will generally detect 0.03-0.06 mg/100 mL nitrite ions in urine.  The test is specific for nitrite; no other substance normally excreted in urine is known to give a positive result.
