Growth Hormone Test Blood Spot Test Collection Instructions Getting Organized:
Lay out the kit contents the night before as a reminder to collect your blood in the morning. To save yourself some time Fill out the requisition form use black ink (no gel or marker pens) the night before. Don’t forget to add the date and time of collection to the form once collected. If testing thyroid your doctor may recommend you take your basal (core) or armpit temperature 4-7 mornings (if possible). This is best done using a basal or glass thermometer calibrated for small temperature changes (available at most drug stores). Do not use a digital thermometer in this case.
Do not take your temperature if you are ill. Women with a menstrual cycle should do this test during the first few days after menses begins. Temperature should not be taken near the ovulatory phase of your menstrual cycle (approximately day 12 of a 28 day cycle). Women who have had a hysterectomy or are postmenopausal can measure basal temperature at any day of the month. Men can measure basal temperature at any day of the month. CAUTION: Do not use this product if you have a blood clotting disorder (such as hemophilia) or are taking blood thinning medications (such as anticoagulants) unless otherwise directed by your health care professional. 3. CLEAN SELECTED FINGER
4. CHOOSE AND CLEAN SELECTED FINGER
5. PLACE HAND ON FLAT SURFACE
6. PRESS LANCET FIRMLY ON FINGER
7. WIPE AWAY FIRST DROP
8. GENTLY MILK HAND AND FINGER
9. FILL EACH CIRCLE
10. LET SPOTS AIR DRY
11. COMPLETE REQUISITION FORM
