Test accuracy:

Both home users and professionals measured semen samples of 194 males separately for sperm concentration.  87% of the results coincided between the home users and professionals. 

•         Home users received the same results as professionals 141 out of 158 times when positive results were reported (sperm concentration equal to or more than 20 million/mL).

•         Home users received the same results as professionals 27 out of 36 times when negative results were reported (sperm concentration less than 20 million/mL). 

Overall accuracy of the test results is 78%. This means that 78% of the time, home users will be correct in either a positive or negative reading.  

•         Performing two tests and obtaining the same result each time (either positive or negative) will provide greater assurance of accurate results.
