FertileMARQ Male Fertility Test

Background Information:

What does this male infertility testing kit do?

The FertilMARQ™ Diagnostic Screening Test for Male Infertility is a rapid and convenient way to test the concentration of sperm in your semen.  The kit will measure your sperm as being above or below the cutoff of 20 million sperm cells per milliliter (ml).  Two test results of less than 20 million cell/ml may indicate male infertility.  The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended this concentration value.

Why should I test my sperm concentration?

One of the main reasons why a man is unable to father a child is due to a low amount of sperm in his semen.  Sperm concentration is one way in which physicians determine male infertility.  This is an easy and convenient way to assist your physician in the identification of potential low sperm concentration in your semen, so that fertility problems can be promptly and appropriately treated.

Why may a man be infertile?

There following are some factors which contribute to infertility:

            •         Low sperm concentration

Inactive or incompletely formed sperm cells

High levels of other cells in the semen that interfere with fertilization
