Biosafe® Prostate (PSA) Home Screening Test™ Patient Information: What are the advantages of a home test? Home testing is fast and convenient for the consumers because the blood sample is collected in the privacy of their own home. There is no hassle in going to the doctor or to the clinic. The test allows the patient to take control of their health and well being into their own hands. The sample is then sent to a laboratory for analysis. The results are accurate and reliable because it is comparable to the tests used by doctors and hospitals. In addition, there is no prescription required to purchase this test. What does the test kit contain?
How does the test work? The blood collection process is easy and nearly painless to collect. Using the lancet provided in the BiosafeÒ Prostate Screen TestÔ kit, a couple of drops of blood are taken from a nick of a finger and then deposited into a collection device called a Blood Transport System (BTS). Next, the BTS is sent to Biosafe Laboratory (CLIA-certified) for analysis. The analysis detect how much PSA is present in the blood sample. The results are then mailed back to the owner of the blood sample in an easy-to-read report. Note: A PSA test should be considered only one part of your overall health maintenance program. Blood sample that was collected in the collection card should not be stored at or above 50°C or 122°F for more than 12 hours. What kind of results will be produced? The BiosafeÒ Prostate Screen TestÔ produces a numerical result rather than a simple “yes” or “no” answer. The review of test results is done professionally by a licensed physician. Biosafe has developed a nationwide network of medical doctors for this purpose. When will the results be available? The test results will be available within 5 days with an explanation of the test results. Background - Patient Info - Health Provider Info - FAQ & Answers - Only $39.95 - See Listing
